Trust
is what gives power to all of our claims. We have been preached too and prayed
for, we stand at the altar and wait for an answer; we trust. Christians trust
in the promised kingdom, trust in Christ's presence through the Holy Spirit, and
trust in our identity as "heirs to the promise." Trust is the
foundation of faith.
The
most basic confession of faith is a statement of trust. Faith is not having
someone tell you that you are saved or that you know Christ. You are saved
because you believe Jesus; you trust Him. When asked what the most important
commandment was, Jesus replied without hesitation…
Mark 12:29-31 "The
Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart, and with all you soul, and with all your mind, and with all your
strength. You shall love your neighbor as yourself".
We
live in a world that calls us to "trust the process," or trust the
government and let them care for you. Who in their right mind could yield to
such faith? Will we soon place on our currency, “in Obama we trust”?
We
on the other hand are those who call the world to trust the promise. Those of
us who were baptized into Christ have
clothed yourselves with Christ. We are a peculiar breed. There is neither Jew
nor Greek, neither slave nor free man, neither male nor female; for you are all
one in Christ Jesus. So if you belong to Christ you are heirs according to
promise, if you have the trust to believe.
A boy in biology class said, "It would not make any difference to me if my grandfather had been a monkey." A brighter lad beside him said, "It sure would have made a difference to your grandmother."Col1:15-20 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. One study indicated that being poor is apparently as hazardous to your health as smoking, drinking, high blood pressure, and all the other known risk factors that doctors rail against. --The analysis focused on people between the ages of 35 and 54 years who participated in a national health and nutrition examination survey. The higher death rates found in poverty situations had basically three components. One third of the excess deaths were tied to smoking, obesity, and other known health factors. Another one third of the risks could be tied to low income. The final one third was due to unknown factors.A study conducted by professionals has concluded that poverty is harmful to your health and overall well-being!

"Whatever you have received more than others -- in health, in talents, in ability, in success, in a pleasant childhood, in harmonious conditions of home life -- all this you must not take yourself as a matter of course. In gratitude for your good fortune, you must render some sacrifice of your own life for another life." Albert SchweitzerRom 1:14-15 I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. 15 That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are at Rome. NIV
"No enterprise can exist for itself alone. It ministers to some great need, it performs some great service, not for itself, but for others; or failing therein it ceases to be profitable and ceases to exist."
Calvin Coolidge
